Old Colwyn Based Recruitment Consultancy Gains Ind 04/04/2005

Sarah West and Karen Jones of Old Colwyn based Supertemps Recruitment have been awarded a pass and a distinction in the prestigious Recruitment and Employment Confederation Foundation Award in Recruitment Practice.

The Foundation Award in Recruitment Practice is a nationally recognised qualification for recruitment consultants. The course provides the consultant with a comprehensive knowledge of all the skills needed in the recruitment process.

The consultants are two of 2,500 consultants in the UK who achieve the qualification each year, a number that is growing as it becomes more important to guarantee high standards in the recruitment process.

During the course of their studies consultants learn about the role the recruitment industry has to play in the economy, the legislation and procedures they are required to comply with, sales and business development, interviewing, candidate care and marketing. At the end of their course, students are required to sit two hours of written examinations.

After achieving this national qualification, consultants are entitled to individual membership of the REC. Employers and candidates using a qualified recruitment consultant are therefore assured of a professional and competent service from a consultant who is not only qualified but who also abides by the REC’s code of Good Recruitment Practice.

Speaking of their achievement, Karen Jones said, “We’re both thrilled to have achieved this recognised qualification in recruitment practice. It further enforces the quality of the service that we provide.”

Judith Armatage FREC, Director of Professional Development, REC says “Congratulations to Karen and Sarah on this wonderful achievement. It is a great example for other recruitment consultants. The REC firmly believes that this qualification will improve standards in the industry and we will continue to promote excellence and celebrate these achievements.”
