Snowdon challenge helps the hospice.
A Llysfaen hiker has raised £1,000 for Ty Gobaith in Conwy Valley after conquering North Wales’ highest peaks last weekend.
Together with her friend Tim Underhill, Sarah Patterson, 32, completed the Welsh 3,000 challenge in just 22 hours to raise money for the worthy charity.
Sarah, of Ffordd-y-Llan, completed the 26 mile trek after camping out at the peak of Snowdon and scaling 15 summits of the mountain range before arriving safely back in Rowen on Sunday. After completing the arduous trek, Sarah was over the moon but said the hike wasn’t all plain sailing.
“The challenge took us a little longer than we has anticipated,” said Sarah.
“We camped out at Snowdon where we witnessed a magnificent sunrise, but the weather turned atrocious and we had some trouble getting down the Grib Goch ridge which can be dicey at the best of times. But we made it in the end.”
