Supertemps of Old Colwyn will be holding a giant “Gingerbread Drop” in the work place of all their temporary personnel this week to celebrate National Temporary Workers week.
The event, which runs from June 4th to 8th, is organised by the Recruitment and Employment confederation (REC) and aims to raise the profile of temporary workers and their contribution to the UK economy. The REC is the trade association for the UK’s £24.8 billion private recruitment industry.
Supertemps, an REC member, was established in 1980 and is North Wales’ longest established recruitment business. Over the past 28 years it has been supplying personnel right across the North Wales coastline on a temporary, permanent or contract basis.
Sarah Ellwood, Director at Supertemps said “Initiatives such as national Temporary Workers week are a great way to show our gratitude and appreciation to workers who have made the choice of pursuing a flexible lifestyle through temping.”
“At Supertemps, we salute our temporary workers and want to show our gratitude through the “Gingerbread drop” event. By visiting all our workers on placement it will give us the opportunity to experience first hand the work they do and witness their continued effort in sustaining a buoyant recruitment marketplace. As well as a Supertemps Gingerbread man each worker will also receive another small token, hopefully of good fortune!”
Marcia Roberts, Chief Executive of the REC, said “We are delighted that Supertemps is promoting National Temporary Workers Week in the North Wales area and we hope that they have lots of fun and create as much interest in promoting the tremendous contribution temporary, contract and interim working make in keeping businesses moving”.
More than 1.2 million temporary workers daily are assigned to jobs in recruitment and staff agencies in the UK.
